FUNDING NEWS
South Australian Local Government Covered
FundBase is pleased to announce that it has completed the local government grant programs for South Australia. This means when you search from your home town, even your local grants are included in the results (where your search criteria matches the criteria for the local government grant program).

Date Change for Gambling Community Benefit Fund
Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) is a very useful grant program for not-for-profit organisations in Queensland and has decided to make changes to its closing dates. The dates previously used have proven to be inconvenient for both applicants and the funding agency.

To address this issue, a permanent change of the closing dates for the four GCBF rounds has been announced.  To facilitate this adjustment, it is necessary to extend the 30 June 2008 closing date to 31 August 2008.  As a result, the GCBF will have only three funding round approvals in 2008-09.

The new closing dates for GCBF funding applications will be:
* 31 August 2008
* 30 November 2008
* 28 February 2009
* 31 May 2009

HELPFUL HINTS
Often you have a greater chance of being funded if you apply in the first round of a new program such as the Caring for Country program. Often first rounds have less applicants and the decision makers are still fine tuning what they will fund so may be a little more lenient than they would in later rounds.
