Welcome to Edition Seven of the FundBase complimentary newsletter. The purpose of this newsletter is give you a few grants and news that may be of interest to you, your organisation or business. It is however by no means a comprehensive outline of possible grants and may feature grants that are not applicable to you. To see all of the grants suitable for your organisation, location and project, search on FundBase. We now have in excess of 2,100 grants that are constantly updated. When you search on FundBase, you will enter certain search criteria which will narrow down all of these grants, to those that perfectly suit your project.
FUNDING NEWS
Funding Broadened to Australian Schools For Kitchen Gardens
This is a Victorian grant scheme that has been operating since 2001 that has recently been broadened to Australia wide with Federal funding from the Rudd government. The grant program funds schools to set up and run their own vegetable gardens, aiming to teach children about growing their own food and the joy and health benefits of gardening. Starting in Mid 2008, a further 190 schools across Australia will be funded over the next four years. More information will be released in the next couple of months, so stay tuned to FundBase.
Deadline Extended for Young Innovators and Scientists
Young Australians can now get their hands on up to $50 000 to turn their innovative ideas into reality under the Australian Agricultural Industries Young Innovators and Scientists Awards. The 2008 funding round has officially opened and young people between the ages of 18 and 35, who work or study in an agricultural, fisheries, forestry, food or natural resource industry are encouraged to apply. Winners can use the funding for a range of activities including a research project, an industry visit, further study in a specific area or attending a conference. The closing date for applications has been extended to July 14 2008.

The Foundation for Young Australians Youth Change Makers grants
Youth Change Makers is a grant round supporting young people who are advocates for change in their community, with assistance of up to $10,000 per applicant group. Individuals or small groups of young people aged 12-25 may apply. This can be done with the support of an organisation, for example, a community organisation or school, enterprise, youth group, or local government. Close 6 October 2008.

Realise Your Dream
The British Council is calling for Australia's best and brightest to enter the 2008 Realise Your Dream competition. It's a professional development award open to all Australians aged under-30 who are involved in creative industries. If they're a winner, we'll help organise a personally tailored work experience program with a leader in their field. Applications close 31 July 2008
The Pratt Foundation/ISS Institute Overseas Fellowship
closeting 30 June 2008, applications for are now being called from Australian artists, trades or technical persons. Each successful applicant receives a maximum of $8,000 towards costs such as airfares, living allowance, accommodation, course fees and materials.
